Top-ranked American tennis player Taylor Fritz won’t be making his third Madrid appearance after withdrawing late from the tournament because of a left foot injury. Fritz, ranked at No. 13 in the world, arrived to Madrid this week and he was drawn to face Jenson Brooksby in the first round. On Saturday afternoon, Fritz withdrew from the tournament. Fritz failed to make it past the Madrid qualifying in 2016 and 2018 but made his Madrid main draw debut in 2019.
