Liverpool are reportedly hopeful of persuading boss Jurgen Klopp to sign a new contract to keep him at the club beyond 2024.Marc Kosicke, Klopp’s agent, was said to be in attendance at Anfield for Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final first-leg win over Spanish side Villarreal, along with FSG president Mike Gordon.
Klopp has previously stated that he is prepared to walk away from the club when his existing deal ends. However, a report in the Daily Mirror claims there have been indications the German is open to extending his stay.
The report adds that talks have been advancing over a new deal in recent weeks and that Klopp is keen on remaining on Merseyside – having made the switch from Borussia Dortmund in 2015.
